Volunteer: Come show off your skills & cook a meal!

 We are looking for individuals, groups, businesses, restaurants, families, etc., to prepare meals for the families staying at Family House. 

The Heart of the House Meal Program provides a way to extend care and comfort to our families who appreciate a home-cooked meal before going to the hospital, or upon return from a long day of medical treatments, or spending the day at the bedside of their loved one. 

Home-cooked meals keep the families from having to go to restaurants, eating out the vending machines,  having to cook after being at the hospital all day, and it allows them to just sit down and unwind. 

Here are some ways to ensure our guests can enjoy a nice meal during their stay:

Schedule a day and time to come to Family House to prepare a meal on-site Drop off a meal or have it delivered to Family House Ask a restaurant if they can prepare individually packaged meals Make grab & go bags for lunch

We have two communal kitchens with everything you need to cook with. We have  3 barbecue grills outside. You will just need to provide the food you are planning to prepare. The number of families varies day by day, but you can call close to the day you are coming to get a count of how many families we have.
