Recreational Volunteers engage the children with play activities such as reading, puzzles, sensory toys or holding. Opportunities are available seven days a week.
Recreational Volunteer Requirements:
- Complete the online application, found on the Children's Hospital of Illinois website at, Volunteering | OSF Children's Hospital (osfhealthcare.org).
- Attend a volunteer orientation.
- Commit to a minimum of 20 hours in the five months following orientation or one hour per week.
- Provide a printed COLOR copy of a photo ID.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Provide documentation of a negative TB test administered within the last 12 months.
- Provide documentation of a seasonal flu shot given during the current flu season – October-April.
- Provide documentation of a COVID-19 vaccine.
- Those 18 years and above will complete a background check form at orientation.
Almost Home Kids is not an appropriate site for court-mandated service hours.
