Our Work

The Heart of Illinois United Way serves Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Stark and Putnam counties. We bring together business, labor, government, and health and human care sectors to tackle complex community issues related to education, income and health.

Each year, one in three people are positively impacted by the education, financial stability and health programs we fund. In addition, the Heart of Illinois United Way provides S3 or Supporting Student Success (in-school mental and behavioral health services) and the Heart of Illinois 211 (211hoi.org) information and referral service in partnership with Advanced Medical Transport of Central Illinois.

Ways to Volunteer

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Each year, thousands of individuals volunteer in some capacity for the Heart of Illinois United Way. This vibrant and diverse group is one of our most powerful forms of philanthropy. Through community-wide volunteerism, the Heart of Illinois United Way is mobilizing a dedicated, united team of advocates working to create positive, lasting community-wide change.
