Shari Pash, Founder
Strategic Solutions for Growth


In 2010, Shari Pash founded Strategic Solutions for Growth, a coaching and training company headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI. Her work focus is on sustainable volunteer and member growth and Board of Director goals and strategy sessions, which requires much more than just maintaining the status quo - it calls for innovation, creativity, and strategic solutions. Shari’s hands-on approach to volunteer development is rapidly changing the way organizations view recruitment, engagement, and retention. She takes the expertise of her clients and combines it with her 30+ years of success in growth and development strategies to generate continuous, measurable outcomes.

Shari is a dynamic conference presenter for many national associations, including Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), Institute for Organization Management (IOM), Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada (CCEC), and Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA). As a  highly sought-after industry professional, she is regularly invited to share her knowledge at state and provincial conferences across the U.S. and Canada.

Shari joined the Heart of Illinois Volunteer Administrators via Zoom on January 15 for the Power of Micromoments: Attracting & Engaging Volunteers in the Age of Distractions. She will join us in person on September 24 for a half-day workshop on Strengthening Boards and Committees, focusing on building dynamic and strategic boards and committees that will drive organizational success. Topics include recruitment, team-building, and onboarding.

Corina Sadler, CVA
City of Plano, Texas


Corina Sadler, CVA is a local government Volunteer Manager and National Service Commissioner in Texas. Her career spans 20 years including committee work for several international associations. She enjoys providing volunteer management guidance to nonprofits and municipalities to unite the community through volunteerism.

In 2019, Corina received a national IMPACT Award from the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement for displaying exemplary leadership in the field. Corina has been featured speaker on podcasts and has trained volunteer managers across the country through virtual and in-person presentations. Ms. Sadler holds numerous certificates along with a Bachelor of Science Degree in applied gerontology and nonprofit management from the University of North Texas. She has been a Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA) since 2012.

Corina joined us via Zoom on February 19 for Don’t Ask My Age! Tips from a former teen volunteer turned volunteer manager focusing on engaging the dynamic audience that is teen volunteers and how to nurture the pipeline of talent that will be inspired by our missions and care about our causes in the future.

Jacob Jenkins, MA
SERVE Illinois



Jacob Jenkins is the Volunteer Program Manager/Disaster Liaison for the IDHS- Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service. 

Jacob was born and raised in East St. Louis, IL, is one of eleven children, and was the first in his family to graduate from college. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Illinois University in U.S. History. He is a 10-year public servant for the state of Illinois. He’s been a resident of Decatur for over a decade.

Throughout this time in his community, Jacob has been an avid Community Service Leader. From setting up extreme weather community shelters to massive water donations to Flint, MI, to a large-scale shoe drive for Haiti, Jacob has always led community service efforts that help those in need during critical times. As a statewide volunteer recruitment and engagement expert, he believes in shifting the culture and narrative of service and volunteerism in Illinois.

As a volunteer manager, Jacob administers several award recognition programs in partnership with the Office of the Governor. The Governor’s Hometown Awards, Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards, and the Office of the Governor Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service Certificate of Appreciation formally recognize volunteers working to improve the quality of life for members of their community. He leads a volunteer team that supports federal, state, and local partners with disaster relief. Jacob believes that a strong volunteer base is the foundation of a successful and thriving community.

Jacob will join us for an in-person luncheon on April 16 to celebrate National Volunteer Month to inspire you with a message focused on 'Knowing Your Big Why' and provide information on the great work being done by Serve Illinois across the state. 



Beth Steinhorn, President
VQ Volunteer Strategies



Beth partners with organizations and their leadership to increase impact through strategic and innovative engagement. As a thought leader, Beth regularly participates in the national dialogue about volunteerism and engagement and is co-editor of the book, Transforming Disruption to Impact: Rethinking Volunteer Engagement for a Rapidly Changing World. She provides consulting and training to organizations across the US and Canada, including supporting dozens of organizations to become accredited Service Enterprises.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Beth worked as an executive director and marketing director with education and faith-based organizations and spent years working with museums as an educator, manager, and anthropologist.

Beth will lead a two-part series for us in July and August - Leading the Way to Strategic Engagement: Assessing Needs and Developing Roles and Moving from Recruitment to Cultivation: Rebuilding Your Volunteer Base.
