Heart of Illinois Volunteers

For new and established organization managers, the Heart of Illinois United Way offers two options for one-on-one training:

Basic Get Connected Training New to Get Connected or need a refresher course? In this learning opportunity for agency account managers, we will cover: basics of updating your agency profile, posting volunteer needs, difference between ongoing and shift based needs, basic back end features you can use to manage your agency's volunteers, general best practices, and user agreement. Training session is offered via Zoom for 1-1.5 hours long depending on questions and specific needs.

Advanced Get Connected Training Want a more in depth look into using the Get Connected platform? This training session goes beyond the basics of how to post volunteer needs and offers information and answers to needs specific to your organization. Additional topics can include switching sign-ups to Get Connected from using a different platform (such as Sign-Up Genius), tips and tricks on formatting your postings, setting up recurring shifts and/or utilizing private ongoing volunteer needs, responding to team volunteer project requests and participating in initiatives. how to use volunteer check-in and other back end features to manage your volunteers, and a review of new site features.

Please Note:

• All new managers are required to complete a basic training in order to access their organization's account.

• Your video camera must be turned on during one-on-one trainings or the session will be rescheduled.

• Basic Training sessions are scheduled for 1.5 hours via Zoom and typically last 1.25 hours.
